Can a colour evoke a feeling?

I love lavender in my wellness pod and I like matcha in my latte and never would the two things meet – yet now almost taken off guard, I’ve noticed my infatuation with this sage and violet palette almost overnight – out of nowhere. but why?

I am a fan of a sorbet palette there’s no doubt about that… but green – I don’t even like green! but its not really green, green is it? who am I trying to convince here – I’m pretty sure its me and not you, you probably like green. also such a fancy pants behaviour of mine is to name all colours as objects, things or feelings – never shall a colour be so boring as to just be green. if you don’t explain colour like this – how would you ever get the absolute feels?

out of the corner of my eye I look at my note pad – and sure enough there it is again – a lilac highlighter…who knew!

but when I think back this palette has been around me before – my drink in Cha Cha Matcha is always the purple drink, with a matcha shot. have you wandered down Abbott Kinney Boulevard? its a dream situation for me. I’ve even named my post with their tagline. I think this palette reminds me of tranquility and being carefree, perhaps this soft scoop tone takes me to a happy place, talking of soft scoops, my salt and straw favourites are honey and lavender. can your subconscious take you there? my mind is defiantly awash with pastels. you will come to realise my monochromatic style is forever low lighted with a hue of Miami Beach.

can a palette evoke a feeling – I think it can. just like a memory colours summon feelings, I did not experience new places last year – but my mind always takes me to my favourites. I wonder what my next thought provoking palette will be? I hope it takes me somewhere good.

and just as I type that last word – my inbox pings and its an email from the museum of ice cream, its defiantly a sign – don’t you just love it when things like that happen.
